Links of the week

PACIFIC RIM→ Guillermo del Toro and Travis Beacham are working on a script for a sequel to Pacific Rim. I am excite! (Yeah, I bought the Blu-ray.)

→ On that note, the best article on Charlie Hunnam leaving Fifty Shades Of Grey.

→ This io9 commentor has a point on how media changes and evolves: If Carrie had been written today, it’d be fluffy supernatural YA, not horror, with sequels, and a cover featuring glitter and a forlorn-looking white girl probably not covered in blood.

→ The library that I worked at in high school totally had a copy of the Indiana Jones Wicca novel, yet I never read it and it’s probably been weeded long since. On that note: I read The Mists of Avalon at an impressionable age and the name ‘Silver Ravenwolf’ is still hilarious. Oh, pagans. (The best Wicca fiction, for my money? Rosemary Edghill’s Bast mysteries. Alas, they hit a few years before urban fantasy really took off or maybe there’d be more of ’em. Or maybe not, as they’re not fantasy at all. Still, it’s a damn shame.)

→ The only version of Miley Cyrus’ ‘We Can’t Stop’ I ever want to hear.
